Eight places are still available on a pre-accelerator programme at Google Campus as it expands the number of places on offer.

Launch 48 has 12 teams confirmed for its one-week course at Google’s hub in Old Street, but is offering 20 spaces in total as it doubles its intake for the first time.

The group’s partnerships and sponsorships head, Simon McCann, told CBR that there was no deadline for applications for the course commencing March 17, but that teams would be accepted on a first come first served basis.

Explaining the expansion, he addedL "We have the capacity to take more teams and we want to make sure we have the right balance of teams to mentors."

The course is designed to prepare teams for life on the three-month Oxygen Accelerator programme, though McCann said some entrepreneurs go on to other incubators like Seedcamp.

The course features advice on drawing up a business plan, analysing the competition, cost-effective marketing strategies and other things startups will need to do on an accelerator.

SaaS firm Cirro Labs is one of 12 confirmed companies, and McCann said the type of teams are "a mix".

The week-long programme costs £499. To apply please visit the website.
