Longmont, Colorado-based 2.5 Winchester pioneer PrairieTek Corp has been lifting the veil on its plans for the next year, and promises low profile dual disk 40Mb and 80Mb for evaluation in second half 1991, a single disk 40Mb drive for even smaller systems in late 1991, plus SCSI versions of the products. The first, the Prairie 242 42.8Mb drive will be previewed at Comde/Fall: it draws an average 0.7W in power savings mode and 0.06W in standby mode and weighs 7.9oz; it measures 0.75 by 2.75 by 4.0 including integrated AT/XT controller, and it needs only a single +5 Volt power supply.
