Powerwave revenue hit by ERP and production problems

Wireless equipment component manufacturer Powerwave Technologies Inc has warned that third-quarter revenue will fall way below expectations and will be in the range of $155m to $160m, compared with its earlier expectation of a range of $200m to $210m.

CEO Ronald Buschur blamed difficulties in implementing a new ERP system in its European operations, coupled with delays in the transfer of production from one of its manufacturing locations. These problems led to delayed production and shipments that significantly reduced revenue. He said that the Santa Ana, California-based company is implementing steps to ensure that these problems do not occur again.
