Power Computing Corp of Round Rock, Texas is cutting its Mac clone prices across the board. The cuts go up to 21% on many models, and include a $600 reduction on all models of the PowerTower Pro line with PowerPC 604e processor. The PowerTower Pro 225 is now $3,700, off $600, and PowerTower Pro Core configurations are also reduced by $600. All PowerCenter systems – also PowerPC 604e – now ship with 2Mb of onboard video memory, upgradable to 4Mb; the PowerCenter 180 drops by $600 to $2,200. The PowerCenter 150 drops $400 to $1,700 with 16Mb 1590MHz PowerPC 604, 512Kb of Level 2 Cache, 1Gb disk, three PCI slots, 2Mb of onboard video, extended keyboard, mouse and bundled software. And the PowerBase 240 is cut by $300 to $1,900 with 240MHz 603e, 16Mb, 1.2Gb hard disk, eight times standard speed CD-ROM drive, three-dimensional graphics acceleration and 2Mb of video memory.
