Takaoka Electric Manufacturing has announced a new line of X-terminals based on the Sparclite chip. Takaoka is a priori a manufacturer of power transmission and distribution equipment which is diversifying into the factory and office automation fields. The new X-terminals are the XMiNT CS and the XMiNT MS, the CS being a colour terminal, and the MS a monochrome, both having up to 32Mb of SIMM memory, and priced respectively at $7,100 and $3,488. A 68000 family version was also announced, the XMiNT C, priced at $5,280. fAlong with existing models, Takaoka expects to sell 10,000 of the new terminals over the next 12 months, from official release next month.
