POST-MCI, AN AT&T-YAHOO! MARKETING PACT SEEMS LIKELY

By CBR Staff Writer

The marketing arrangement between Yahoo! Inc and MCI Communications Corp terminated this week with the closing of the deal that sold MCI’s internet business to Cable & Wireless Plc. And rumor has AT&T Corp’s WorldNet division talking to Yahoo! about a similar marketing deal that would provide for a Yahoo- branded version of the WorldNet dial-up service. AT&T has already signed similar deals with Excite Inc, Infoseek Inc and Lycos Inc in the space of five days last May, after being beaten to the punch by MCI, which announced its deal with Yahoo in March (05/11/98). Neither Yahoo or AT&T would comment.
