Portera Inc, the Campbell, California-based company which offers a range of web-based news and applications for professional services workers has bought ConsultLink Inc, which maintains a web-based directory of high-tech consultants seeking jobs and is claimed to represent over 24,000 consulting firms and contractors.
Other web-based job sites including monster.com are said to have similar facilities for posting resumes but not the same penetration in the high-tech consultancy world. Terms were not disclosed but ConsultLink will be run from within the Portera web site.
Portera’s also trumpeting a new tracking application on its web site that enables users to tracks tasks and issues, responsibilities, deadlines and project status. It’s said to make group projects easier to manage between team members. It costs $10 a month for each live project.
