Polycom expands telepresence applications

Claims to enable users create customised telepresence environments

Polycom has unveiled new line of telepresence offerings Polycom Architected Telepresence Experience (Polycom ATX) 300, which are based on the company’s visual communication technology. Polycom ATX 300 service can be customised by audio/visual (AV) integrators to address vertical industry applications or meet an organisation’s collaboration and/or room requirements.

The company said that Polycom ATX 300 system can be used to create telepresence environments customised with displays, furniture, lighting, acoustics, etc. These services are based on established video conferencing standards and open interoperability, enabling organisations to use them with existing video conferencing systems.

Polycom ATX 300 services complement an existing broad portfolio of Polycom immersive, room and personal telepresence offerings and supporting infrastructure, management and video recording, streaming and content management offerings that enable enterprise-wide visual communication, the company said.

Youssef Saleh, vice president and general manager of telepresence and vertical solutions at Polycom, said: The ability for people to see each other clearly and share information and content instantly across distances can be applied to virtually any industry to enhance collaboration, improve productivity and reduce costs.
