The day after she had announced the Education Dashboard web-based inititiave at last week’s Harvard Internet and Society conference, Marimba Inc chief executive Kim Polese told us that some of the other CEOs involved included Cisco Systemes Inc’s John Chambers – another long-time advoacte of US education reform – Netscape’s Jim Barksdale, and John Doerr, a partner at Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, keepers of the Java Fund and investors in Marimba, among many other companies. And just in case anybody is in any doubt about Polese’s plans for Marimba’s future and the likelihood of an IPO, Polese says, Sure, when the time is right.
