Cambridge, Massachusetts-based Polaroid Corp unveiled a point- and-shoot digital camera aimed at estate agents, advertising photographers and other professionals. The PDC-2000, under development for four years, is launched at CeBIT in Hannover and will be commercially available within the next 90 days. The base model will sell for $3,000 and needs to be connected to a computer to store image. A 40Mb version will sell for $3,700 and can store 40 images, while the 60-image version will sell for $5,000. Santa Clara, California-based SanDisk Corp, will supply Polaroid with SanDisk 60Mb IDE FlashDrives for the new camera. Its Flash storage device has capacity for as many as 60 uncompressed images before downloading to a computer system.
