POLAND APPROVES TELECOMS PRIVATIZATION

The Polish government has approved a plan to float up to 25% of the state telecommunications monopoly TPSA in 1998 on Polish and international markets, according to the Polish Telecommunications minister Andrzej Zielinski. He said the government plan assumed that the TPSA, Poland biggest state firm, would be privatized in stages with a public offering for both institutional and retail investors in Poland and abroad in the first year.
