POINTCAST NAMES PHIL KOEN TO REPLACE DAVID DORMAN

By CBR Staff Writer

In the wake of the unexpected resignation of its chief executive David Dorman (see separate story), perpetually troubled PointCast Inc has appointed former chief operating officer Phil Koen to the positions of president and CEO. Dorman, who will remain as chair of Pointcast’s board of directors, has hinted that the company will be sold within the month. PointCast is still privately held, since a planned IPO was withdrawn last year. Companies fingered as possible buyers for the push pioneer include Broadcast.com or one of the Baby Bells.
