PLUS DEVELOPMENT HAS A REMOVABLE HARD DISK SYSTEM FOR PCs

By CBR Staff Writer

Quantum Corp’s Plus Development Corp in Milpitas, California has come up with a removable hard disk system for personal computers: the Plus Passport integrates a complete 3.5 40Mb or 20Mb Winchester in a removable format, the idea being that you can render safe a machine that is used to store sensitive data by simply taking the disk out; the system fits in an available 5.25 half-height bay on the micro and the system costs $1,250 for 20Mb, $1,550 for 40Mb, from June, but no price was given for additional drives to go in the housing.
