City gossip picked up by the Sunday Telegraph has Plessey Co Plc taking a more than passing interest in diversified engineer Dowty Group Plc – which ironically is in process of building up a data communications side – as a possible acquisition candidate: with a market capitalisation of just under UKP400m, Dowty is just about within Plessey’s reach.
