PLESSEY SHOWS INTEREST IN INMOS

While on this side of the water, Plessey Co is named as one of the companies that has shown more than a passing interest in Thorn EMI Plc’s Inmos International Ltd and has asked for a prospectus, across the Atlantic there is intriguing talk that Steve Jobs may be a customer for the Transputer for use in the Scholar’s Workstation that is on the way from his new Next Inc company: the Transputer is already used in the forthcoming Atari Corp Abaq workstation, and Newsbytes has even got wind of some kind of unholy alliance between Jobs and Jack Tramiel – are they perhaps thinking of buying a joint holding in Inmos?
