Plessey Co has a co-operative agreement with Italian telecommunications equipment manufacturer Italtel, now part of Telit SpA, on marketing some of each other’s telephone equipment. The two companies are also planning to carry out joint development of PABX equipment, and Plessey says that it is also in discussions on a similar joint marketing agreement with Jeumont-Schneider SA in France. Plessey will market the Italian company’s small PABX and a digital key system in the UK. The company’s director of Telecommunications David Dey said the decision on which Plessey’s products Italtel would market in Italy had not yet been reached.
