PLESSEY OPERATIONS STALLED BY GEC SIEMENS BID

The Plessey Semiconductors arm of Plessey Co Plc has been looking for a microprocessor to second-source, and has been considering going into static RAM production – and perhaps into production of mass market dynamics using a new fabrication process – but complains that its talks with other companies are being stalled by the uncertainty caused by the bid from GEC Siemens Plc, according to the Financial Times.
