PLESSEY-LED PARTNERSHIP WITH GEC WINS UKP5M CONTRACT FROM LONDON STOCK EXCHANGE

A Plessey-led partnership with GEC has beaten British Telecom, Thorn-Ericsson, Northern Telecom and AT&T-Philips to a UKP5m contract to supply the London Stock Exchange with its own System X telephone exchange, giving it another 4,000 lines to the 9,000 already in use: phone traffic generated subsequent to Big Bang occasioned the need.
