PLESSEY HAS LANLOK LOCAL NET SECURITY

By CBR Staff Writer

Plessey Co Plc’s Plessey Crypto unit is claiming a world first for its Lanlok MLS-100 multi-level security for local area networks. It says the product is the first system to conform to the B2 classification for multi-level secure systems as defined by the US National Computer Security Centre Orange Book, together with a choice of encryption algorithms. It will give users in finance, commerce and industry the same level of security only normally used by the Government. If it’s no better than government security, we all have reason to worry.
