By CBR Staff Writer

British Telecommunications Plc this week placed the latest round in its quarterly award of orders for digital local telephone exchanges under its supply contracts with Plessey, GEC and Thorn-Ericsson, and the latest award contains no surprises. GEC and Plessey share contracts totalling UKP64m for 455,000 lines of System X exchanges – the split between the two suppliers was not revealed – and second source supplier Thorn-Ericsson Telecommunications gets an UKP8m award for 70,000 lines of the AXE10 exchanges.
