PLESSEY CUTS 400 JOBS

Rationalisation in the wake of its acquisition of Ferranti International Plc’s semiconductor business means that Plessey Co Plc must cut 400 jobs in its expanded operations, 340 at the Ferranti plant in Oldham, Lancashire, the rest in its own Swindon and Plymouth factories.
