IFS, a supplier of component-based business applications says Richo will deploy IFS Applications on IBM xSeries hardware at its manufacturing facilities in North America, the UK, Spain, and China.
IFS claims its business solution is designed to help companies improve quality, contain costs, and improve competitive position in manufacturing industry segments. It claims that industrial manufacturing companies also benefit from IFS’ lifecycle management solution, which goes beyond product lifecycle management to provide better integration and management of three critical business areas – products, customers, and resources-throughout their lifecycles.
David Bryan, Director of IT for Richco, said, We chose IFS Applications because it is a strong global package with all the capabilities we need, including integrated functionality for repetitive manufacturing, Kanban, and engineering. The IFS system will enable us to standardize business processes and roll out a comprehensive lean initiative throughout our worldwide operations.
Richco is expected to implement IFS’ applications for supply chain management, financials, engineering, maintenance, quality management, sales and service, and workforce management.
