Plantronics has expanded its unified communications (UC) portfolio with the launch of new offerings including a new USB desk phone, corded headsets and wireless DECT headsets.

The company said that its new Blackwire 420 corded USB wideband headsets designed for in-office and mobile PC-based conversations, includes a foldable headset designed for a mobile worker. It has in-line controls for volume, answer/end and mute. The Blackwire line includes five headsets with wideband audio, call control and noise canceling microphones in both mono and stereo.

According to Plantronics, the new Calisto 540 wideband USB phones, an Optimised for Microsoft Office Communicator deskphone, is suitable for stationary workers who use the PC for voice conversations and want the familiarity of a desk phone. The Calisto family of products also includes a USB speakerphone and a handset.

Plantronics said that the new Savi family of wireless DECT USB wideband headsets includes new binaural and monaural headband versions that are designed for workers who use both a deskphone and the PC for making calls. It enables in-office professionals to listen to any PC-based audio via the desk phone or PC.

The Plantronics Voyager PRO UC bluetooth USB wideband headset combines PRO Bluetooth headset with a plug-and-play Bluetooth USB adapter to offer wideband audio and wind cancellation on softphones. It supports multipoint technology that allows users to switch between their mobile phone calls and PC calls, the company said.
