Internet postage company E-Stamp Corp has been slapped with a lawsuit by Pitney Bowes Inc, which alleges that the company used certain of its concepts to develop its technology. The suit seeks unspecified damages. Pitney says it has patents dating back to the 1980’s which cover the process of printing postage on a printer attached to a PC or network, and accuses E-Stamp of violating the patents in its system which enables users to download postage from the internet and print it directly on envelopes. The market for such systems is expected to explode as small business embrace the technology. รก
