Santa Clara, California-based Pioneer Semiconductor Corp, a maker of high-speed logic and clock distribution chips, wants to get away from people mistaking it for an affiliate of Japanese consumer electronics company Pioneer Electronics Co but it will now cause a few flutters in the UK display teminal market, because it wants to change its name to Pericom Semiconductor Corp.
