By leveraging a service-oriented architecture (SOA), the Chinese insurer expects to benefit from greater efficiency and productivity within its IT operations.

Since 2005, Ping An has worked to systematically streamline its core business processes and automate data exchange between its various business systems. The insurer is using Fabric to integrate key enterprise systems, including its customer information file, which synchronizes client profile information between

different applications across its various subsidiaries.

Deployment of an enhanced business integration network is expected to

be completed later this year. Taking advantage of the ability within an SOA

to create more targeted composite applications that better address specific

business requirements, the company also expects to deploy a number of new

customer-facing applications during this timeframe. Ping An expects to

complete its overall transition to an SOA in the next two years using

webMethods’ Fabric.

We have focused on automating the business processes that have enabled

Ping An to better serve their customers while simplifying their

administrative processes, said Raymond Mo, general manager of webMethods Greater China.
