PICK-POPPER TRIFID SET TO WIN ITS FREEDOM FROM AMERICAN CAN IN BUY-OUT

By CBR Staff Writer

The management of Trifid Software Ltd has reached agreement in principle to buy the company from parent American Can UK Ltd’s new owners, Triangle Industries Inc, for an undisclosed sum. Founded in 1983, Trifid sells its own Pick-based 28-module manufacturing package, Integrated Business System, and Ultimate Corp’s Pick 370 operating system for IBM 370-type mainframes throughout Europe. The Congleton, Cheshire-based company has around 60 customers and employs 75 staff. 30% of its annual revenue – several million pounds – comes from overseas, mainly France and the Benelux countries.
