PHILIPS “WANTS RCA SOLID STATE”

Although neither side will confirm it, Electronic News hears that Philips has signed a letter of intent to buy RCA Solid State from GE; the Dutch firm signed with the RCA unit in 1982 for a CMOS parts venture.
