PHILIPS NV TO TRANSFER SEMICONDUCTOR TECHNOLOGY TO THE SOVIET UNION

Philips NV has a $13.9m five-year contract to transfer semiconductor technology to the Soviet Union, but says that the parts are only appropriate for low-tech consumer goods.
