Colchester-based Philips Business Systems has won a UKP3m contract to supply the National Westminster Bank with 900 cashier terminals for its retail banking branches: the machines are Philips P3230 Intel 80286-based personal computers and each will act as a serial network controller running bespoke software Logicon Inc, Los Angeles has agreement in principle to acquire Eagle Technology Inc of Winter Park, Florida on undisclosed terms: Eagle provides defence-related professional services to the US government in the training & simulation; command, control and communications systems engineering; and logistics support areas and did $26m turnover in the year to March; Logicon provides technologybased systems and services to support national security, civil and industrial needs.
