PHILIPS AND SONY CUT SET-TOP BOX PRICES

Philips Electronics NV and Sony Corp have followed Microsoft Corp’s move to acquire WebTV Networks Inc by cutting prices up to 25% on the television set-top decoders for the service. They now cost about $250, compared with $330 before the cut.
