PHILIPS 4Q PROFIT UP 111% ON SALES UP 6.8%

Boosted by one-time gains on the sale of subsidiaries, Philips NV yesterday reported fourth quarter profit up 111% at the equivalent of $278m on sales up 6.8% at $8,525m.
