Pharos Science and Applications, a provider of GPS navigation software and devices for personal and business use, said that they have begun shipment of their ruggedised PDA based on Windows Mobile 6.5.
The company said that the Pharos 565 includes features such as built-in GPS navigation, 3.5-inch QVGA touchscreen display, Wi-Fi, bluetooth, IrDA and RAW IR/SIR in a ruggedised Windows Mobile 6.5 PDA with a Qwerty keyboard.
According to the company, the new device comes with Marvell PXA310 624 MHz CPU, 512 MB Flash ROM, and 256MB DDR SDRAM. It is compliant with the International Protection Rating (IP54) standard and can resist a drop in a range of 4 ~ 5 feet. In addition, it includes an Office Mobile suite of applications.
The package includes the 565 PDA, a long-life Li-Ion Polymer battery, AC adapter, USB cable, and the included software package. The new unit is suitable for people who need mobile organiser, multimedia entertainment and GPS navigation in a compact package, the company claims.
