IBM Corp has finally found an executive to head up its Networking Hardware Division NHD, a job that has been handled on a temporary basis since IBM’s big reorganization last year by Dr James Vanderslice. Jim Pertzborn takes over as general manager after a career covering workstation and server development. Pertzborn will report to Dr Vanderslice, who is senior vice president and group executive for the technology group, with a brief to develop products that complement IBM’s e-commerce drive. Vanderslice moves onto IBM’s corporate executive committee where he will be joined by Abby Kohnstamm, the mastermind of IBM’s current e-commerce advertising drive.
