Perot Systems Corp, the $350m IT services company based in Dallas, Texas, has paid an undisclosed some for Houston-based object-oriented application consultant RothWell International Inc, a privately held firm specializing in Smalltalk. Nine-year-old RothWell has helped build major Smalltalk projects for around thirty clients, including Texaco and Prudential, and last year did around $6m in business. It employs 70 object professionals, and has programming facilities in Houston, Dallas, and Bangalore, India, and its own set of object methods and associated tools. RothWell will become a wholly-owned subsidiary of Perot Systems, a privately-owned company with over 4,000 employees, which has an existing object-oriented technology group.
