The AST Research MS-DOS co-processor board for Apple’s Macintosh SE is not due until the first quarter 1988, but Perfectek Inc of Milpitas, California has announced its own co-processor card and will release it once it gets FCC approval that it meets Federal emission standards: the Mac+PC SE board, which is planned for release by January at $995, features an 512Kb 8086 CPU, MS-DOS, file transfer and conversion software, and a cable for direct data transfer between MS-DOS and Macintosh machines – and is claimed to have a faster screen refresh rate than the AST product.
