Carlsbad, California-based local area network management and mainframe data access company Peregrine Systems Inc has bought Boston, Massachusetts-based Bridge Technology Inc on undisclosed terms. Bridge has database copy replication and monitoring software for OS/2, AIX and HP-UX, and a high performance tool for extracting DB2 mainframe data and squirting .DAT, .INX and .LF files directly into DB2/2, DB2/6000 and DB2/HP-UX, without the need for logging or intermediate processing and disk storage. Peregrine says it plans to put the tools into its FastLoad suite, which is available for mainframes or stand-alone servers. Peregrine has a development office in Austin, Texas. Further database management tools are planned.
