Peregrine Systems Inc has signed a second major distribution agreement for its infrastructure management products worldwide, this time with IBM Global Services. The San Diego, California-based firm already enlisted ICL Plc in May for a European agreement and the IBM contract will allow Peregrine to target Fortune 500 firms globally (CI No 3,666).

The deal is centered on Peregrine’s asset management and service management products. These allow companies to know what they own, who is using it or has access to it and how much it’s costing. Peregrine’s alliances director for EMEA Kevin Tumulty says that large corporates are looking for ‘complete solutions’ and says IBM Global Services fits the bill, providing consultancy, integration as well as visibility for Peregrine’s products.

Peregrine is growing at 100%, says Tumulty. The IBM deal gives Peregrine another access point for the multinationals, and the company has already signed up a handful of German insurance firms as customers.
