Peregrine Systems Inc has released software integrated with CommerceOne Inc’s e-procurement site that it claims will save corporate users 70% of the costs of ordering office supplies and services. Peregrine’s Get.Resources! procurement software is the first of a series of products in the Get.It! line, which lets users execute business processes without using support staff. Peregrine says it will add software to enable users to access databases of corporate best practice and other company information by the second quarter.

The San Diego, California firm has added extensible markup language (XML) support to the workflow technology in its AssetCenter infrastructure management and ServiceCenter change management software. The XML allows PC users to receive catalogs directly from CommerceOne and send orders back without using a separate department within the company. Peregrine says that it can reduce ordering charges from $107 to less than $30 per order. Peregrine has signed up Arthur Andersen, KPMG and IBM Global Services, as distributors for its other infrastructure resource planning products.
