Peplink unveils new version of Balance Firmware

Includes VPN bonding feature that aggregates multiple internet links

By CBR Staff Writer

Peplink has introduced a new version of Balance Firmware, which features a new VPN Bonding, along with its new model Balance 1350.

According to Peplink, the Balance Multi-WAN routers allow businesses, hotels, schools, educational institutions and other organisations to add multiple internet links such as Cable or DSL and reduce cost by replacing leased lines.

The company claims that the VPN bonding feature can aggregate multiple internet links, increasing bandwidth and enhancing speed across office sites. The bonded VPN network, protected with 256-bit AES encryption, provides enterprises an alternative to current MPLS or leased line offerings.

In addition, the company also unveiled new Balance 1350, designed to meet the growing demand of bandwidth. Supporting up to 1.5Gbps and 13 WAN links, the new enterprise model caters to customers with extreme internet requirements and is deployed in a corporate headquarters or datacentre environment and connects to other Peplink Balance routers in branch locations to form a fast and reliable VPN Bonding network.

Keith Chau, general manager at Peplink, said: “We’re extremely excited about the new VPN Bonding capability. It provides a better, more simple, and affordable corporate network for all kinds of customers. Greater upload speed also means faster file transfer, shorter backup time, higher quality video streaming, remote live broadcasting and many other new possibilities.
