Craig Conway was named president and chief operating office of Peoplesoft Inc yesterday, taking over the president’s position from company founder Dave Duffield. Conway was president and CEO of San Jose, California-based One Touch Systems Inc until earlier this year, and was also CEO of networking firm TGV Software Inc. Before that, Conway was at Oracle Corp for eight years. Duffield stays on as CEO and chairman, though it’s likely that Conway will take over after a while. The appointment apparently ends a nine month search, which was when the current slump in the company’s business first became evident, although Duffield only revealed he would relinquish the president’s chair back in March (CI No 3,615).
