First is PeopleSoft Enterprise Learning Management (ELM) 8.8. Using this application, organizations will be able to put their learning management processes online. It is pre-integrated with PeopleSoft Human Resources Management Suite (HRMS) and can be integrated with legacy or third-party systems so organizations can use existing HR information. Its aim is to reduce learning costs and improve workforce productivity by deploying learning to the right people at the right time.
The Pleasanton, California-based company also released four new modules within its HRMS solution aimed at improving workforce management and performance measurement.
PeopleSoft ePerformance seeks to provide organizations with a management application that helps align employee performance with corporate aims by managing employee resources in the context of financial and strategic goals.
PeopleSoft HelpDesk for Human Resources combines the attributes of self-service CRM with HR requirements in a bid to drive the efficient handling of HR-related inquiries. It provides HR specialists with a 360-degree view of every employee’s case history and HR data, and can be deployed to intelligently connect employees to an HR specialist with the appropriate skills to address their specific request.
With the advent of PeopleSoft Mobile Time Management PeopleSoft has delivered the first module in the emerging HCM mobile business applications suite. PeopleSoft Mobile Workforce is geared towards reducing costs and saving time by ensuring data accuracy and time reporting flexibility for employees who connect remotely to their time reporting systems.
The fourth HRMS application takes the form of Global Payroll, which administers and consolidates pay information across multiple geographies and workforces on a single database. However, this application has been extended in terms of geographic capabilities to India, New Zealand, Malaysia, Singapore, the Netherlands and Brazil, rather than in terms of internal functionality.
PeopleSoft has also released its Sales Incentive Management Solution for high-tech and industrial organizations. Also part of the HCM solution, it is aimed at reducing incentive management expenses by streamlining administrative processes and providing greater visibility, control and agility to management. The intention is to allow companies to align their incentive plans with business objectives.
The HR arena is PeopleSoft’s home ground, and this round of new and extended applications adds further depth to its already deep offering. It will also act as a pertinent reminder to competitors of how much they have to do to compete effectively with PeopleSoft in this area of business applications, particularly SAP AG which has declared its intention to go head-to-head with PeopleSoft in the HR area.
