PeopleSoft Inc this week added several new modules to its service supply chain product as well as introducing a line of analytic applications for managing human resource issues. The ERP vendor’s service supply chain integrates Peoplesoft’s HR (payroll, benefits, time and labor and so on) software with its HR Management, Service Revenue Management and Enterprise Performance Management products. The latter enable companies to track staff competency gaps and training; track expenses, invoices and receivables and analyze staffing efforts against contract terms. On top of that, PeopleSoft is adding a series of enhancements including service resource scheduling, contract management and traveler professional modules, which it says will solve three key business processes.
Specifically, contract software will let businesses that are entering into multiple complex contracts, to manage them centrally, organizing the billing, revenue recognition and fulfillment from the one system. Resource scheduling allows service organizations to source employees based on competencies and the professional module gives remote workers the ability to manage schedules, time and expenses while away from their desks. It also provides links to external data such as travel schedules from Sabre. The new additions will be included in the next version of PeopleSoft’s ERP software, release 8.0. Meanwhile, the company said its analytic applications for managing such HR functions as equitable pay, retention and tracking employee skills will ship in the fourth-quarter.
