PenSoft Corp has a prototype of its Personal Information Manager which runs under the PenPoint operating system from Go Corp: the company says that Information Manager will supply identifiable templates for appointments, contacts, to-do lists, expenses, notes and reports; customiszation and program extension will enable it to be integrated into existing or new systems, and applications will range from sales force automation to management information systems; data may be entered directly or extracted from various external data sources, such as dBase datafiles, and once the data is within the the Information Manager, users will be able to establish links between data, building an information network; links can be established with data from word processors, spreadsheets and other documents and electronic mail will also be integrated; during the second and third quarters of this year, a group of pilot projects will be initiated using early versions of the software, with commercial availability in late 1991.
