According to Galvanon, the check-in kiosks will identify patients by asking them to view and confirm demographic and insurance information, electronically sign documents and make co-payments. The product will also provide directions to the appropriate function or location within the facility.
The hospital is deploying this self-service approach in the hope of speeding the check-in process, improving registration accuracy, eliminating redundant paperwork and minimizing wait times.
Galvanon’s MediKiosk is part of a suite of products that allows hospitals and clinics to provide patient self-service capabilities such as pre-registration via the web, online BillPay and eClipboards, a wireless patient check-in system.
