Peloria Technology Corp has announced rule-server software that operates on cc:Mail inbox messages. According to the Burbank, California-based company, Mail Scout for cc:Mail inspects inbox messages for local users of Lotus Development Corp’s cc:Mail, and, depending on the instructions in its rule set, responds appropriately to those messages that meet the conditions prescribed within those rules. Responses can include message answering, forwarding or discarding, file fetching, timed reminders or other actions. The product, which according to Peloria runs on its own personal computer, on the same local network as a cc:Mail post office, also includes free Windows client software for creating and submitting rules to the server. This incorporates security safeguards, with a password requirement before a submitted rule will be accepted, and a control to determine those available rules that will be active or inactive. Mail Scout for cc:Mail will be available later this month for $50 per user for one to 19 users, $25 per user for 20 to 99 users, $17.50 per user for 100 to 999 users, $15 per user for 1,000 or more users or, says the company, as a negotiated site licence. Peloria says that it is also creating a rules language developer’s kit, set for release this quarter.
