PEGASUS REVENUES RISE, WINDOWS PRODUCTS HIT MARKET

By CBR Staff Writer

Pegasus Group Plc, the small but successful UK company that makes financial software for small and medium enterprises and applications for accountancy firms, has increased its revenues by 33% to 7.4 million pounds for the six month ended June 30. The company’s pre-tax profit, however, fell 13% to 632,000 pounds during the period, largely on the back of an extraordinary payment the company received last year and the company’s development efforts to convert its software applications from running on DOS to running on 32-bit Windows. The company, which has always worked with DOS, bar a brief dabbling in Unix a number of years ago, will show some of the fruits of its Windows development in October with the release of Pegasus Mpower. The Mpower 32 bit client/server financial application packet, aimed at the higher end of the SME market, will go into beta testing September 17, with a version for smaller companies slated for delivery in 1999.
