Sonus Networks, a provider of IP-based network offerings, has announced that Peerless Network, a service provider that simplifies interconnection of voice, data and signalling across disparate networks, has purchased Sonus NBS5200 Network Border Switch to expand the capacity of its IP peering aggregation points.
The new network border Sonus NBS5200 is built on Sonus ConnexIP platform, to deliver the highest-density, highest-scalability Session Border Control (SBC) offering in its class with integrated transcoding, media interworking, and native support for IPv6 and IPSec encryption, Sonus said.
Peerless Network said that the purchase of the NBS5200 to its existing NBS9000 deployment will increase the product’s scalability, network capacity performance, and minimises footprint requirements in the data centre.
Sonus executive vice president and chief operating officer Guru Pai said the NBS5200 will help Peerless Network to leverage their existing Sonus network and pave the way to handle future demands.
