Husky Computers Ltd, the successful Coventry maker of ruggedised handheld computers now owned by Peek Holdings Plc, will be going for a major upgrade of its current Husky Hawk at the Which Computer? Show. Up to now the company has used only the NSC800 CMOS Z80-compatible chip in its machines, but with the Hawk 8/16 it is adding an 80C88 and support for MS-DOS. The machine will come with 640Kb RAM, 280Kb of solid state disk alternative and MS-DOS 3.2.1. Also new is a 1.1Mb version of the CP/M model with 8 by 40 Supertwist LCD, and a ?500 80Kb model.
