The new name replaces both the communication name of Peabody Group and the legal entity P&L Coal Holdings Corporation.
The name reflects Peabody’s position as the leading coal company and a premier energy supplier, with growing interests in related business including coal and emissions trading, third-party coal contract restructuring, coalbed methane and generation development.
Peabody Energy’s website address will also change, effective April 23, to http://www.peabodyenergy.com .
